Attention: Scam Alert

It has been brought to our attention that the corporate address and contact details of Maybank Securities Pte. Ltd. (“MSSG”) have been misused under the name of “KIM ENG FINANCE”, “Kim Eng Finance PTE LTD” or “Kim Eng Finance (Singapore) PTE. LTD.” (collectively, the “Purported Parties”) to offer loans.

We wish to clarify that MSSG is a holder of a capital markets services (“CMS”) licence, and is not a licensed bank or moneylender, and does not engage in any moneylending business other than securities margin financing that is regulated as “product financing” under the Securities and Futures Act 2001 which MSSG holds a CMS licence for. While MSSG has a related company named as “Kim Eng Finance (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.” (UEN No. 199900848K) (“KEF”), it is a separate entity that holds a moneylender licence under the Moneylenders Act (Chapter 188) and neither MSSG nor KEF have any affiliations or dealing with the Purported Parties.

We have taken measures to report such incidents to the relevant authorities. We wish to alert the public to remain vigilant of scams, and to be cautious and not to transfer money or reveal confidential information such as personal information or bank/brokerage account details to unknown third parties.
