Maybank supports distribution of RM100 eMADANI credit

Maybank‘s MAE app is set to support the distribution of the e-credit initiative - a one-off RM100 credit, under the eMadani programme which would benefit some 10 million Malaysians under the B40 and M40 group. The eMADANI credit distribution to e-wallets is also an initiative to further accelerate cashless payment adoption and acceptance for local merchants in the country.

Dato’ Khairussaleh Ramli, Group President and CEO said that Maybank is honoured to be one of the four e-wallets identified by the government to assist in the distribution of eMADANI credit. As the largest financial institution in the country with a strong customer base of around 12.4 million, Maybank is confident to fully support this initiative and reach out to a large pool of claimants with ease.

“With rising costs of goods and essential items, the cash assistance is a needed respite, especially within the identified groups and we are more than happy to assist in these efforts. The eMADANI programme will also have the spill-over effect to spur trade among our local merchants through seamless and convenient QR payment transactions. This is aligned with Maybank’s M25+ strategic thrusts to intensify customer centricity by increasing customer satisfaction and making our services easily accessible to all,” Dato’ Khairussaleh added.

From now until 29th February 2024, MAE app users who are eligible to claim under the eMADANI programme will stand a chance to win up to RM500,000 attractive prizes such as a Proton S70, gold bars, cash prizes and much more in Maybank’s Tebus, Belanja dan Menang Campaign. In addition, in full support of the local micro, small and medium merchants, users can also earn extra entries with Tap, Track & Win when they spend the RM100 eMADANI credit at these merchants nationwide.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim first announced the eMADANI programme at the launch of the Madani Economy Framework on 27th July 2023 and eligible Maybank customers will be able to claim via the MAE app from 4 December 2023 onwards.

The RM100 eMADANI credit is allocated for 10 million eligible Malaysians earning an annual income of less than RM100,000; aged 21 years and above or for Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah recipients who have not previously claimed for the eBelia Rahmah pay-out. Claims can be made from now until 20 February 2024; and can be used for in-store purchases. Purchases must be made within 4th December 2023 to 29th February 2024.
