Maybank Opens 19th Branch in Sabah

Maybank today opened a new branch in Ranau which is also its 19th branch in the state to allow for greater banking accessibility to the community in the area.


The launching was officiated by the Local Government and Housing Minister of Sabah, YB Datuk Haji Hajiji Haji Mohd on behalf of the Chief Minister, YAB Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman.


Maybank President & Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Abdul Wahid Omar said the opening of Ranau Branch marked another milestone for Maybank Group which has been in the State for more than 50 years.


“The opening of this new branch reflects our long term commitment to support the government’s effort in the economic development of the country. It will also help reduce the gap between rural and urban communities.”


“We hope that services we offer will provide opportunities to people in Ranau and its surrounding to enjoy easy access as well as convenient and safe banking services,” said Dato’ Sri Abdul Wahid Omar.


Maybank Ranau is led by Branch Manager, Mohd Rozlee Abd Rashid with Ang Kim Boon as Assistant Manager and 15 other staff.


Operational since mid December 2011, the branch provides comprehensive conventional and Islamic banking services, which includes deposits and current accounts, remittances, financing, insurance, sales advisory and investment, covering retail and business customers. It also provides counter services for Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) products.


Besides ATM and Cash Deposit Machines, customers can also enjoy secure online banking services through Maybank’s internet banking portal Maybank2u.com which allows banking accessibility 24/7 from anywhere in the world.


In conjunction with the launching, Maybank Islamic handed over its zakat amounting to RM600,000 to Pusat Zakat Sabah. This was an increase from the RM450,000 last year.
