Maybank Signs Agreement with LHDN

More than 12,000 Maybank2e.net (M2e.net) business customers can now undertake online income tax payment immediately via Maybank's enterprise cash management portal with the launch of this new facility on M2e.net today.

 

A special signing ceremony to mark the official launch of the online income tax payment service on M2e.net was held at Menara Maybank today. Dato' Sri Abdul Wahid Omar, President & CEO and Rozidin Masari, Senior Executive Vice President, Head of Business Banking signed on behalf of Maybank while Inland Revenue Board Malaysia (LHDN) was represented by Dato' Hasmah binti Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer/Director General of Inland Revenue and Puteh Mariah binti Harun, Director of Revenue Collection.

 

"This new online income tax payment service is Maybank's ongoing commitment to provide value-added services to our customers giving immense benefits to corporations in terms of time savings, improved efficiency and productivity by automating critical areas of their business or human capital activities," said Dato' Sri Abdul Wahid in his address.

 

"We are targeting 1,000 of our existing M2e.net customer base to use the online income tax payment service within the first year, making about 1 million transactions," he added.

 

M2e.net currently offers six modules for information management; payables management; receivables management; liquidity management; vendor & dealer financing and corporate services. Since its launch in 2003, the Bank has aggressively expanded the facilities available in response to customer's needs as well as improved the infrastructure and service support to cater to mass volume transactions which M2e.net is designed to handle.

 

These six modules offer an array of payment and collection conveniences such as enterprise bill payments, dividend issuance, loans & corporate cards repayments, EPF & Socso payments, inter and intra bank transactions, cheque outsourcing, account enquiry, RENTAS and many others.

 

Dato' Sri also said that the introduction of this latest online payment service is also aligned with the Government's vision to promote greater IT applications and electronic transactions in government services as well as society. "Maybank2e.net is recognised as one of the best cash management system in the country and our leadership has received international recognition for its product innovation and functionalities among them from international publications such Asiamoney, Alpha SouthEast Asia and The Asset," he said.

 

Dato' Hasmah said that the incentives by Maybank to offer integrated services for all sectors: individuals, companies as well as employers are very much welcome and hope that the other service providers would follow the lead taken by Maybank.

 

By 2010, Maybank intends to introduce two more modules to M2e.net that will give organisations even more autonomy and control of their cash management activities and continue to make M2e.net business solutions among the best of its class in the country and the region.
