• Diploma – Applied Science, Institut Teknologi MARA Malaysia

Relevant Working Experience:

With a banking career that spans more than 30 years, including his current role as the Deputy Group Chief Risk Officer, his specialisations in Business Segment and Risk Management will ensure that the Bank continues to drive business growth responsibly across the Group by spearheading the enforcement of a strong risk-awareness culture and sound asset quality management practices. He is currently responsible for Group Risk’s International/Overseas Units (OUs) Transformation Initiative with the main objective of streamlining the risk management practices across Group and improving Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and performance tracking, in-line with Group Audit’s strategic priority on focusing on key risks to the Business.

Prior to his current role, Datuk Hamzah was the Maybank Group Chief Credit Officer, where he formulated and implemented the Credit Management Framework, Enhancement of Credit Underwriting Standard for Line of Business and strategy to improve the overall Asset quality for Maybank Group.His track record and capabilities put him in good stead to bring Group Risk to the next level, especially in the pursuit of Maybank’s M25+ ambitions.
