BALI, INDONESIA, OCTOBER 17: Malaysia’s and ASEAN’s largest Islamic bank in terms of total assets, Maybank Islamic Berhad has emerged as the best recipient of Best Global Islamic Financial Institution award, its second consecutive recognition, at the Global Finance Awards 2018 ceremony, held here last Saturday.

It was also recognised as the Best Global Sukuk Bank and Best Global Provider of Shariah-Compliant Short-Term Investments – the Bank’s third consecutive wins in both categories.

The Bank was also named the Best Islamic Financial Institution in Asia Pacific, and it also clinched the country awards for Malaysia and Singapore.

Global Finance said the awards are in recognition of the Bank’s efforts in ramping up its global presence, product development and innovation, as well as a centre of excellence for Islamic finance – all of which are important aims as more Islamic financial institutions are becoming mainstream financial intermediaries in many global markets.

Maybank Islamic Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Mohamed Rafique Merican who was present at the ceremony to receive the awards, said:

This is the 7th consecutive year Maybank Islamic has won the Best Islamic Financial Institution Award in Malaysia since 2012, and also the fifth time it has been named best in Singapore from Global Finance magazine.
