Putting People First
Maybank has always stood by its responsibility towards the people and society, to empower communities to maximise their potential. To show our appreciation to those who have supported us since day one, we introduced programmes that are sustainable and would bring change to communities over time. We are proud to say that we have programmes across the education sector, community empowerment, arts and culture, environmental diversity, healthy living and disaster relief across ASEAN. We also introduced our FutureReady programme for all Maybankers, to increase our employees' digital literacy, as well as equip them with capabilities that are relevant now and in the future.
As we continued to grow, we knew we couldn't do everything alone. We believe that the way to achieving great things is if we do it together. In 2016, putting the underserved's interests at heart, the MaybankHeart platform was born, the first-of-its-kind digital social fundraising platform connecting NGOs to a wider audience to support their causes. As of today, over 28 different organisations that support various causes are on the platform and we strive to reach out to more.
We established Maybank@Campus as part of an effort to illustrate seamless banking and its role in fulfilling financial needs for students, preparing them for the next phase in life. Today, there are seven Maybank@Campuses where students can attend financial literacy workshops, apply for loans, open their first savings account and more.
Across the causeway, we launched MSpace in Singapore, a branch that combined a cafe with modern banking services. Visitors are able to use a bespoke app on-premise to order drinks, take a queue number for counter service, browse information on financial products, as well as sign up for free workshops.
Innovation is in our DNA. Back in 2017, keeping your security in mind, we introduced face and voice recognition features to the Maybank2U app, the first in Malaysia to offer all three biometric functionalities on a mobile banking app. We also launched a cashless mobile payment option using QR codes via Maybank QRPay, for a seamless transaction experience while you dine and shop at your favourite retail outlets and cafes. And we wanted to do more. In 2019 we launched MAE; an e-wallet integrated in the Maybank2u mobile banking app aimed at being part of your lifestyle!
