Maybank has bagged top honours as GRADUAN’s Most Preferred Employer and Randstad’s Most Attractive Employer for Banking and Financial Services. The back-to-back wins are testament to the Bank’s continuous efforts in creating a workplace that is collaborative and inclusive for its employees.

GRADUAN is Malaysia’s leading publication catering to tertiary level students and graduates, providing an overview of the career landscape in Malaysia while Randstad, headquartered in the Netherlands, is a global leader in the HR services industry with a strong market presence in Asia Pacific and has offices located in Singapore, Hong Kong SAR, China, Japan, India, Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia.

Group Chief Human Capital Officer Nora Manaf dedicated the win to the Group’s 43,000 bank employees, who have played an active role in creating an exemplary work culture that has strengthened the Bank’s position as the best place to build a career.

“We are thrilled to receive yet another set of industry awards to reaffirm our leadership in the area of talent management. GRADUAN and Randstad are reputable industry observers which are constantly listening and sharing the voices of the public and, in this case, their views of what makes a good employer. Our “always on” approach and commitment in putting our employees first have been key in making us an employer of choice, especially with the new generation of the workforce who aspire to be part of the Maybank family.”

The key contributors to the double major wins include the Group’s on-going ‘FutureReady', digital upskilling programme, and ‘GO Ahead’ Employer Value Proposition (EVP) which encourages employees to break through barriers and strive for greater success.

“Our leadership team is driven to continuously shape our employees to be the finest in the industry. As part of this commitment, Maybank is investing RM30 million for the FutureReady programme this year to humanise employee development, and enabling them to meet customers’ needs more effectively in the fast-changing digital world. Furthermore, the GO Ahead EVP has also been a core factor in realising a working environment and culture that is conducive for our employees and sought after by talents and jobseekers out there,” added Nora.

At GRADUAN’s Aspire Career and Postgraduate Fair 2018, Maybank was named the Most Preferred Employer, taking the highest spot among 50 other organisations across various industries. The study conducted by GRADUAN included more than 15,000 participants, comprising graduates and working professionals who voted Maybank as their ideal workplace. Maybank also received similar recognitions in 2014 and 2016.

The latest Randstad Employer Brand Research honoured Maybank as the Most Attractive Employer for the Banking and Financial Services sector. The independent study included results based solely on the opinions and votes of the local potential working demographic. The research involved more than 3,000 respondents across Malaysia comprising potential job seekers as well as employees, and assessed their interest to work for an organisation. The research also featured 75 of Malaysia's largest organisations including several Malaysian and global banking and financial services companies.
