Some 800 students from 15 schools in Johor were given a sneak preview of Legoland Malaysia courtesy of Maybank Foundation today, ahead of the theme park’s opening to the public on 15 September 2012. The children, who are studying at Maybank’s adopted schools, had a fun-filled yet educational day from 8 am – 5 pm, enjoying the thrilling rides and wonderful creations at the theme park.

In addition, 30 children from the Spastic’s Association of Johor were also given this special treat by the Foundation.

They were all hosted by Maybank Regional Director for Johor/Melaka, Mohd Gharif Talib and about 100 Maybank staff from the Johor region who volunteered their time to accompany these students. Apart from the entrance tickets to the theme park, Maybank Foundation also sponsored their transport as well as meals during the outing.

The sponsored trip is part of Maybank Foundation’s efforts to enable these children to have a chance to experience the thrills of this unique theme park which provides not only exciting rides but also activities that offer intellectual stimulation.

Head of Maybank Foundation Secretariat, Eliza Mohamed, said that Maybank Foundation was able to offer this unique sneak preview in view of the bank’s recent tie-up with Legoland Malaysia as its official retail bank.

“Maybank Foundation is one way through which the Maybank Group demonstrates our mission of humanising financial services by being at the heart of the community,” she said. “We undertake various programmes that are targeted at community building, supporting the underprivileged, providing educational assistance as well as conserving the environment,” she said.

As the official retail bank of Legoland Malaysia, Maybank will also be offering special savings and exclusive benefits to its customers in Malaysia and the region. Customers will be able to enjoy special promotions during selected periods, when payments are made via specific Maybank channels. Additionally, children will also be given discount vouchers and the chance to participate in exciting activities organised by Maybank, subject to promotional offers.
