PT Bank Internasional Indonesia Tbk (“BII” or “The Bank”) today held an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (“EGMS”), which approved the appointment of Dato’ Khairussaleh Ramli, Chief Financial Officer of Maybank Group, to be the new President Director/CEO and the appointment of Ani Pangestu as the Human Capital Director of the Bank. The EGMS also approved the change of the Bank’s name to PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk (“Maybank Indonesia”).

Following the Bank’s resolutions of the EGMS, the Bank will seek approval from the relevant authorities for the appointment of the new President Director/CEO and the change of the Bank’s name.

Dato’ Khairussaleh Ramli, who has been Maybank Group Financial Officer since November 2008 has worked closely with the BII management. He has also spent seven years with the Public Bank Group, one of the top banks in Malaysia, from 1990 to 1997. His extensive experience in the financial-services sector provides him with the required knowledge and skills to helm BII, ranked among the top ten banks in Indonesia.

Prior to joining Maybank, Khairussaleh served in Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) for two years. He also spent eight years with Bursa Malaysia Berhad, holding various positions before rising to the post of Chief Financial Officer in 2004. He was voted Malaysia’s CFO of the Year for the second consecutive year in a poll conducted by Finance Asia in 2011.

Current Acting President Director Rahardja Alimhamzah has been leading BII since the resignation of Ridha Wirakusumah as President Director in July 2011. Rahardja will now be assuming additional accountability for Commercial Banking and Global Markets in his role as Head of Global Wholesale Banking.

“We are sure Khairussaleh will lead BII Maybank to even greater heights as it undertakes its next level of transformation and be a significant contributor to Maybank Group, said President Commissioner Tan Sri Dato’ Megat Zaharuddin bin Megat Mohd Nor.

"This change of name to Bank Maybank Indonesia is a natural stage in the bank's evolution within the Maybank Group, to promote business and economic growth in Indonesia. The development will strengthen the bank's image in the Indonesian community as stakeholders will associate their local bank as part of a network of a strong international banking group that is fully committed to play its role in hastening economic and community development in this country", Tan Sri added.

"BII-Maybank's transformation is a continuation of its journey started in 2009, to be better and stronger. Our change of name will hopefully hasten the building of a common organizational culture across the Maybank Group in our pursuit to make our operations here a key contributor whilst humanizing financial services", said Khairussaleh.

"I am honoured with the shareholders' support to my appointment. I intend to also enhance our contribution to the Indonesian community through its corporate responsibility activities focusing on education, supporting healthy lifestyle, and environment/community empowerment", Khairussaleh concluded.
