Expands Services and Convenience, Malaysia’s leading internet banking portal with the largest number of registered users and bill payment facilities took on a new ‘look and feel’ website today. Customers can now benefit from a host of more personalised and comprehensive account and transaction information. Incorporating a simpler experience in its layout, design and navigation, the most significant new feature in the revamped website is that it provides customers with detailed or summarised information on all their banking accounts, credit cards and trading accounts online without the need to wait for the printed statements to reach them as Online Statements has been introduced.


The new website is a complete revamp of the existing portal and leverages on latest technology and industry best practices as well as adopts next generation platforms to make more robust. It has cleaner design and layout, is simpler to use and more organised with greater ease of getting the right information or doing transactions in a secured environment. The site also offers multiple activity options in a single page, which means fewer clicks and easier navigation to perform an activity. The web pages have been trimmed by half and are less graphic intensive thus providing faster response time.


The website has the scalability to offer more sophisticated services such as application for new products, the versatility to work on multiple platforms, PC, Mac or Linux and accessibility across standards compliant browsers such as IE browser, Firefox, Safari or Opera. The website also retains the highest level of online security.

He also said that the new website reinforces the strong brand franchise of and Maybank’s leadership in internet banking in Malaysia. “With an increase in volume and range of services on M2u, it is imperative that the website platform and architecture be robust enough to handle the increasing usage by customers each day,” added Lim.


On’s leadership in internet banking in Malaysia, Lim said, “M2u has a formidable customer base of 3.2 million registered users comprising about 60% of the country’s registered internet banking customers. M2u also offers the largest number of payee corporations which has increased steadily from less than 100 eight years ago to over 600 now.”
