Fifty Maybankard MasterCard Platinum Debit customers will experience a first time holiday package to Resorts World Sentosa Singapore courtesy of Maybank and MasterCard Worldwide. The winners were also among the first successful applications of the Maybankard MasterCard Platinum Debit Campaign held from December 2010 to February 2011 in conjunction with the launch of this acquisition campaign. The total rewards valued over RM200,000 offered each winner a holiday package consisting of two return flight tickets to Singapore, a 3 days 2 night stay at Resorts World Hotel, and a one day pass to Universal Studios Singapore for two including gift vouchers.

“Maybankard MasterCard Platinum Debit was launched in October 2009 and we have seen over 100 % growth in new debit card issued. Overall spend for this debit card also grew by over 300% versus same time last year,” said B. Ravintharan.
“This acquisition rewards campaign is one of the many campaigns to encourage customers that want more than a debit card with MasterCard Platinum priviledges and Maybank Premier account many benefits. We are planning more campaigns in the coming months to drive the acquisition and spending growth,” he added.
The MasterCard Platinum Debit is offered to customers that open any Maybank Premier conventional or Islamic savings or current account and it is issued on the spot at any Maybanks branch nationwide. It is also the first debit card that sets a higher daily spending limit of up to RM10,000 and targeted at business entrepreneurs and professionals. The card can also be used for e-commerce including PayPal. It also offers a host of platinum privileges from Maybank as well as MasterCard. Maybankard MasterCard Platinum Debit cardholders are also offered 1 (one) TreatsPoints for every RM3 spend.
One of the winners, Wendy Tan, a Maybank customer for 20 years from Kuala Lumpur, said she had decided to change to the MasterCard Platinum Debit as it serves her needs. “I have only recently started using the Maybankard MasterCard Platinum Debit card as an alternative to using cash for purchases that accepts debit cards as payment. I did not realise I won but the reward is a pleasant surprise and I look forward to making the trip with my husband to Singapore,” she said.
