INSURANCE AND TAKAFUL

We operate Insurance and Takaful through several life and general as well as conventional and Islamic insurance companies under the Etiqa brand name, one which we aim to develop to become the country’s largest insurer focusing on:

  • Building a productive agency force in Conventional and Takaful insurance
  • Driving Maybank business through product innovation (Savings, Investment & Protection)
  • Building a profitable portfolio for Group and Health insurance
  • Strengthening branches, third party business, direct, enterprise and corporate distribution channels

ISLAMIC BANKING

As the largest Islamic bank in Malaysia, Maybank Islamic seeks to grow domestically and also expand into the key markets of Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore, the Philippines and Hong Kong/ China.

GROUP FINANCE OFFICE

Maybank Group Finance serves as the foundation for virtually all aspects of the business, from traditional financial accounting to advanced financial analytics, converting data into knowledge, and disseminating them to the various stakeholders.

GROUP CREDIT & RISK MANAGEMENT (GCRM)

The management of risk lies at the heart of Maybank Group’s business. All of the Group’s activities involve the measurement, evaluation, acceptance and management of a combination of risks, posed by a rapidly changing business environment.

GROUP STRATEGY & TRANSFORMATION

Group Strategy & Transformation aims to become an indispensable business partner and programme enabler for all Transformation initiatives of the Maybank group throughout the region.

CORPORATE & LEGAL SERVICES

Corporate & Legal Services comprises four units namely, Group Corporate Secretarial (“GCS”), Share Registrar, Mayban Nominees and Legal Services.

  • GCS provides secretarial services on governance matters.
  • Share Registrar’s duties and responsibilities are to provide share registration functions in maintaining and updating the Maybank’s Register of Members (ROM), Record of Depositors (ROD), and Directors’ shareholdings.
  • Maybank Nominees provides services on nominees-related activities such as stock and shares processing, unit trust processing, income collection processing, corporate actions and proxy services.
  • Legal Services provides advisory services on all legal matters affecting the business/operations and other support service units of the Maybank Group.

COMPLIANCE

Identifies the applicable requirements (laws, regulations, contracts, strategies and policies), assess the state of compliance, assess the risks and potential costs of non-compliance against the projected expenses to achieve compliance.

CORPORATE AFFAIRS

Corporate Affairs (CA) strategises and implements the external communications programmes and public relations activities of Maybank, including being the secretariat for the Maybank Foundation. The Group CA function includes Communications, Media Relations & Publications, Corporate Sustainability & Maybank Foundation, Events & Project Management, Strategic Communications and Food and Beverage. The team aims to protect and enhance the Group's image, reputation and visibility through various initiatives.

GROUP HUMAN CAPITAL

Maybank’s Human Capital philosophy and practices are in line with the world’s best practices and supports Malaysia’s HR development framework. The infrastructure is built on strong foundation comprising the right Performance and Talent Management products, principles, processes and tools as well as having the right people policies.

ENTERPRISE TRANSFORMATIONAL SERVICES

Operationally, our business pillars are supported by the Group’s Enterprise Transformational Services providing overall support for transformation initiatives, information technology and operations, with the aim of continually improving efficiency.

IT Transformation Programme (ITTP)

ITTP rolled out a five-year strategic roadmap to be deployed across the region, aimed at improving service channels, product design capabilities and business support. The system is designed to be agile, leveraging on capabilities to out-execute the competition as we aim for ASEAN expansion.
