Datuk Mohaiyani Shamsudin to retire as Maybank Chairman; - To be succeeded by Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa

Maybank wishes to announce that its Chairman, Datuk Mohaiyani Shamsudin, will retire on 1 November 2020,
following nine years of service on the Maybank Board. Datuk Mohaiyani was appointed Director of Maybank on 22
August 2011, before being appointed as Chairman on 1 April 2017.

The Bank also wishes to announce the appointment of Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa as a Director
and the new Chairman of Maybank effective 2 November 2020.

Commenting on her tenure in Maybank, Datuk Mohaiyani said, “It has been a privilege to serve on the Board of
Maybank since 2011. I am especially grateful for the trust placed on me to lead this organisation as Chairman
over the last 3½ years. I retire knowing that the Group remains on a solid foundation to navigate through the
current pandemic and emerge even stronger as one of the leading financial services groups in the region.”

“I would like to thank my fellow Board members, the management, staff and all other stakeholders who have
given this organisation, and me, their unwavering support over the years," she added. “Maybank has a strong
heritage, built on the trust and confidence of all its stakeholders over the last 60 years. I know it will continue
to serve all its communities with the highest standards of integrity in the years ahead, guided by its unique
mission of humanising financial services.”

In a tribute to Datuk Mohaiyani, Maybank Group President & CEO, Datuk Abdul Farid Alias said, “The Board
and Management are indeed grateful to Datuk Mohaiyani for her wisdom and guidance over the past nine years.
She has had an illustrious career and her insights into the financial services industry are much sought after, and
which she has willingly shared with all of us.”

He added, “She has also been an inspiring leader who epitomised Maybank’s mission of humanising financial
services, motivating us on every occasion to remain true to our purpose in all aspects of our business. Most of
all, she challenged us to strive to do better, through her own example of commitment and dedication to the
Maybank Group. On behalf of the 43,000 Maybankers worldwide, I would like to convey our highest gratitude and
wish her every blessing in her retirement.”

Datuk Mohaiyani has had a distinguished career having served Amanah Chase Merchant Bank Berhad and
Seagroatt & Campbell Securities Sdn Bhd before establishing her own stockbroking company, Mohaiyani
Securities Sdn Bhd in 1985 where she assumed the role of Managing Director.

During her active involvement in the stockbroking industry, she was appointed as Deputy Chairman of the Kuala
Lumpur Stock Exchange (now known as Bursa Malaysia Berhad) and Chairman of the Association of Stockbroking
Companies Malaysia.

She had also been appointed a member of several high level national working groups such as National Economic
Action Council, National Economic Consultative Council II, National Information Technology Council, Ministry of
Finance High Level Finance Committee for Corporate Governance and National Advisory Council for Women,
Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.

Currently, she also serves as a director of Universiti Teknologi MARA, Capital Market Development Fund of the
Securities Commission Malaysia as well as a member and trustee of the National Heart Institute Foundation,
Perdana Leadership Foundation and National Council of Women's Organisations Malaysia. She is also a member of
the National Unity Advisory Council under the Ministry of National Unity, Malaysia.

Datuk Farid also welcomed the appointment of Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Zamzamzairani as the new Chairman of
Maybank, saying, “Tan Sri Zamzamzairani comes with extensive understanding of the corporate sector and
brings great insights particularly in the technology space, critical to Maybank’s future growth and success. The
Group looks forward to his guidance and leadership as we navigate through the challenging operating
environment and continue with our growth agenda, with special focus on further strengthening our digital
capabilities.”

Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Zamzamzairani holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications Engineering from Plymouth
Polytechnic, United Kingdom and has completed the Corporate Finance, Strategies for Creating Shareholder
Value programme at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, United States of America. He has
also attended the Strategic Leadership Programme at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School and the IMD
CEO Roundtable at Lausanne, Switzerland in 2013.

He has vast experience spanning more than 30 years in the telecommunication industry, beginning in Telekom
Malaysia Berhad (“TM”) where he served for 13 years before assuming key positions in several multinationals
such as Global One Communications and Lucent Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, where he was Chief Executive
Officer (CEO). He returned to TM in 2005 as Senior Vice President, Group Strategy and Technology and was later
promoted to CEO, Malaysia Business, before being appointed as the Group CEO and Managing Director in April
2008 until his retirement on 30 April 2017.

Under his leadership, TM launched and successfully rolled out the high speed broadband service in 2010, in a
historic collaboration with the Government of Malaysia. Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Zamzamzairani was awarded the
Business Person of the Year 2015 at the Asian Academy of Management International Conference, organised by
Universiti Sains Malaysia in October 2015, and also named CEO of the Year at the Minority Shareholders
Watchdog Group’s Annual Corporate Governance Awards ceremony in the same year. He was conferred a special
individual award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Industry’ at the 2017 Frost & Sullivan Malaysia Excellence
Awards and named the prestigious Telecom CEO of the Year at the 20th Telecom Asia Awards 2017.

Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Zamzamzairani’s directorships in other public companies include Malaysia Airlines Berhad and
Malaysia Aviation Group Berhad.
