Maybank Bali Marathon 2018 winner announced

Gianyar, 9 September 2018 - PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk (Maybank Indonesia) successfully held the international Maybank Bali Marathon (MBM) 2018 on Sunday in conjunction with National Sports Day, 9 September 2018 in Bali. Celebrating its 7th event this year, MBM remains consistent in offering beautiful rural views of Kabupaten Gianyar and Klungkung, while still maintaining runner convenience and safety.

Elite professional runners again displayed a sterling performance. In Full Marathon Open Male category, Cosmas Matolo Muteti from Kenya with BIB number 1186 scored a time of 02:15:25, which made him champion of Maybank Bali Marathon this year. After running a distance of 42,195 kilometer through the rural areas of Bali, Cosmas Matolo Muteti was very proud as he was awarded cash prize 189 million Rupiah, handed over by President Director Maybank Taswin Zakaria.

Winner for each category, Full Marathon Open Female was taken by Rebecca Jepchirchir Korir from Kenya with a time score of 02:45:29, Full Marathon National Male was taken by Hamdan Syafril Sayuti with a time of 02:35:07 making him the champion for the fourth time (2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018), and Full Marathon National Female championed by Odekta V Naibaho with time 02:59:05.

Maybank Bali Marathon 2018 registers more than 10,000 runners from 46 countries including Indonesia, who counts the biggest number of participants. In total, the participants for this year’s marathon has increased 12.9% from last year. MBM ensures a sport event that maintains its international standard and consistently attracts all runners from around the globe.
