Two for London Date on Maybank MasterCard Platinum Debit

Azmi Ab Majid, Maybank MasterCard Platinum Debit cardmember won the Grand Prize of an all expense four day London trip worth over RM50,000 in the London for 2 Platinum Experience campaign held in conjunction with the launch of MasterCard Platinum Debit last year. The prize consisted of two return Business Class tickets, 5 star hotel accommodation in London as well as RM1,000 cash credited into his MasterCard Platinum Debit account.

“This surprise reward fulfills my dream of going to London as I have never been there before. Thanks to Maybank and MasterCard, my wife, Rosmina and I look forward to celebrate this priceless experience as a second honeymoon for us,” said the jubilant manager with an IT company from Klang, Selangor, who celebrates his 10th wedding anniversary this year.

Azmi and other consolation winners collected their prizes from Ashraf Ali Abdul Kadir, Executive Vice President and Head of Cards and Payments, Consumer Banking, Maybank at a special prize presentation ceremony held at Menara Maybank. Also present was Jim Cheah, Senior Country Manager, Malaysia and Brunei MasterCard Worldwide and B. Ravintharan, Executive Vice President and Head of Cards, Consumer Banking, Maybank.

“More than 30,000 entries were received during the six month period. It also offered consolation prizes of RM1,000 each to four winners. two of whom were expatriates - one from South Africa and another from Japan,” added Ashraf.

Ashraf said that consistent with Maybank’s promise of providing convenience and premier rewards, entries were automatic without any gimmicks. MasterCard Platinum Debit customers who spent a minimum of RM100 qualified for one automatic entry to the contest. “The debit spend during the campaign was mainly for retail and groceries and other normal spend for which cardholders stood a chance of receiving premier rewards.”

The Maybank MasterCard Platinum Debit is a niche debit card issued to Premier Account holders. It offers a higher daily purchase limit of up to RM10,000 as well as selected Maybank and MasterCard Platinum privileges including rewards points for redemption of exclusive goods and services.

“We have just introduced the latest service for the MasterCard Platinum Debit which is its acceptance for Auto PayBills by corporations, namely Telekom Malaysia, Astro, Tenaga Nasional, Sarawak Electricity, Celcom and Maxis. We will introduce more facilities and hold more campaigns in the coming months for our cardmembers. As a premier debit card, we will focus on expanding the privileges to our over 200,000 niche Premier Account holders,” said Ashraf.
