Maybank Launches Pantai Amex Credit Card

Maybank and American Express Partner Pantai Group of Hospitals to Launch Malaysia’s First Co-Brand Card for Healthcare Industry

American Express and Maybank today teamed up with Pantai Holdings Berhad, the holding company of the Pantai Hospitals and Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur, to launch the Pantai American Express Credit Card, Malaysia’s and Asia’s first co-brand credit card with a healthcare service provider. The card is also the first such co-brand credit card issued on the American Express global network targeting consumers in Malaysia and within the region.

The card offers exclusive benefits at the chain of 10 Pantai Hospitals nationwide including Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur. The benefits include 10% savings on all hospital charges during admission, 20% savings at hospital suites, priority reception, free porter assistance to the ward, 2% cash rebate on all expenses at the hospitals and five times TreatsPoints at selected healthcare and wellness merchants. In addition, Cardmembers can also receive Pantai Vouchers based on a minimum accumulated spend of RM20,000 over 12 months which can be redeemed for health screenings at the hospitals.

Ashraf said that there is much scope for greater use of cards in the medical and healthcare services as private healthcare expenditure is growing. “Presently, card volume transactions at hospitals have increased by 23% in the last 12 months.”
