Maybank Bahrain was the first South East Asian bank operating an Offshore Banking Unit (OBU) in the Middle East region. Maybank Bahrain commenced its wholesale banking operations on 1 September 2002.

Main activities are wholesale banking with emphasis on syndicate corporate lending and capital markets. As part of Maybank’s Group network, Maybank Bahrain extends services from Maybank Islamic, Maybank Investment Bank and Maybank Investment Management to entities within the region. A key part of Maybank Bahrain is to provide Islamic solutions to clients within the region.

Maybank Bahrain also facilitates the flow of economic capital between the Middle East region and Malaysian investors, alongside providing alternative investment opportunities for investors in the Middle East region.
